What We Built
Completed product catalog import system -- CSV parser, SKU normalization, and category mapping now functional. Inventory sync between warehouse spreadsheet and storefront database working end to end. Tested with 340 SKUs, zero errors.
Key Decisions Made
Decided to build checkout as a separate service rather than embedding it in the main app. This keeps the payment logic isolated and makes PCI compliance easier to scope. Stripe is the processor -- no PayPal integration in v1.
Open Items
Shipping rate calculator still returns wrong zone for ZIP codes crossing state lines. Email confirmation template not yet designed. Need to decide on return policy before launch page copy can be finalized. Tax table for Indiana needs review.
Next Session Context
Catalog import is done. Next session starts on the customer account system -- login, order history, saved addresses. Auth is handled by the existing session library, don't rebuild it. Database schema for orders is in /docs/schema-v2.md.
